The League Championship Series or LCS, is a Fall softball event for slow-pitch league teams. Back in 1987, three of the Recreational League Directors got together and rewarded league championship teams with a fall tournament event. Created with a ridiculously low entry fee of $40 in 1987, the directors thought they would get about 40 – 50 teams to play over the course of the weekend. As it turned out, over 160 teams entered, creating one of the largest softball events of the year and something that has endured for many years.
2025 will be the 38th year of the LCS and it is still going strong. This event is open to any slowpitch softball team that won a league program with one of our Member Agencies.
The League Championship Series is always hosted the 3rd and 4th weekend of September.
